With all that has been going on in my life, I have really neglected those people that mean the most to me. That’s not an excuse. I really need to own up to it. I have been a total jerk to most of my family and a few of my close friends. I have focused on MY needs, and have disregarded theirs. Even WORSE, I have neglected my Blessed Mother and my GOD.
These are a few of my many sins that I try to make excuses for. “Well, I have been so stressed…” “Well, I was tired…” “But I just wanted to be alone…” GOSH, even I annoy myself with that whiny crap. Aren’t you annoyed when your friends whine ENDLESSLY? I wonder how God feels whenever we whine to Him… If we know that we get super duper annoyed when family and friends whine, why do we whine when we pray? Just a little somethin’ somethin’ to meditate on.
SO, I have been getting ready for school (I start Wednesday) and I decided to take time out of my preparation to call Sr. Mary John. If you don’t remember who she is, she is the vocations directress for the Lafayette Carmelites and a living saint. One thing that came up in our conversation was the plethora of Trindentine Carmels being established because they are bursting at the seams with vocations.
“I don’t know how those sisters do it. I thank God that He didn’t call me to a Trindentine Carmel. He knew I couldn’t do it. I am happy here where I have been for years.”

He knew I couldn’t do it.
That phrase really stuck with me. I guess because I have been struggling with balancing work, play, and my spiritual life. He knew I couldn’t do it.
God isn’t stupid. God isn’t you 1st grade teacher. God is…. well, He is God. Beginning, end, all that good stuff. Because God isn’t dumb, God knows our limits. He knows what we can’t do, what we can do, and what we excel at.
God isn’t going to give us an impossible task. ANY TASK HE GIVES US IS POSSIBLE BECAUSE HE HAS GIVEN THAT TASK TO US. He doesn’t want to see us fail. BUT this also doesn’t mean we can accomplish these challenges on our own. No sir. We need Him to do everything. Without Him we are useless.
So run to the Father without abandon. Live in Christ and let Him live in you. If we do this, and consecrate ourselves and all our endeavors to Him and His Blessed Mother, we will be able to “do all things in Christ who strengthens us.” (Phil 4:13)
Please don’t worry, brothers and sisters. :)

Ahhh….this was good timing. i needed to read this today. THANK YOU !!
